On the other side of fear usually lies the most rewarding journeys in life.

You’ve probably experienced this phenomenon yourself many times.

We all have.

Whether it be going for a new job or promotion, speaking to that person you are attracted to, maybe joining a new sports team or hobby, or even going into a shop or restaurant that you feel is out of your league.

You start to ponder whether you should go for the thing you want, and you imagine what it would be like approaching the person or people you need to speak to.

As you do this you start to feel nervous …

You get that feeling in your stomach, your mind starts to race, your hands might start to sweat, and you start to think of all the things that could go wrong, or how foolish you might look …

“People might laugh at me.”

“I might get rejected.”

“Who am I to do this?”

“I don’t want it that bad anyway.”

And finally, you kid yourself with the safety blanket statement of …

“I’ll go for it next time.”

Or maybe …

“I’ll do some more research at home. Practice some more. And then I’ll be ready.”

But for most people, that day never comes.

They remain frozen by the idea of rejection, looking foolish to others and not being enough.

They let other peoples opinions trap them in an invisible prison, and they settle for less than they want.

Sound familiar?

We’ve all been there, right?

And over time, if not addressed, the feelings of settling for less and not going for what they really want start to eat away at the person, and these thoughts and feelings can lead to dis-ease in the body which can manifest as depression, anxiety, a chronic illness such as a gut or skin problem, or worse.

However, like all things, it doesn’t have to be that way.

You don’t have to live in fear of other peoples opinions or rejection. In fact, it’s just a program that our brain plays to protect us from being extradited from the herd. Yes, it may have been relevant hundreds of years ago, but in today’s society, it really on serves in holding you back.

And when you start to change this programming, and instead of being afraid of what could go wrong, you start to get excited by what could go right, your life will be more interesting and it will probably start to change for there better.

Now, I’m not saying you’ll automatically get everything you want, or you won’t be rejected, BUT you will have gone for what you wanted, and you can always learn from what you did wrong.

Plus, instead of always wondering what if, and having to live with the choice of not taking action, you can be proud that you are the sort of person who goes after what they truly want … and from first-hand experience I can tell you that is a liberating feeling.

So over to you …

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

Tell me below … I dare you. 😉
