If you are contemplating having breast implants I think it’s important that you should know all the facts and dangers first.

Breast implant illness is something I have dealt with increasingly over the last few years.

It’s an issue that can cause the person going through it hell on a daily basis, and it comes with a variety of symptoms including (but not limited to):

Fatigue, chest pain, hair loss, headaches, chills, photosensitivity, chronic pain, rash, body odour, anxiety, brain fog, sleep disturbance, depression, neurologic issues, hormonal issues and advanced disease.

With such a wide array of issues linked to this procedure, you might be wondering why this topic isn’t being discussed more often?

One obvious answer is the amount of money that it makes the cosmetic industry with implants ranging from £2500 – £6000 depending on where you go. (Not to mention another £3000 – £5000 to get them removed should you need too.)

The other reason, in my opinion, it doesn’t get talked about that often is because of the culture we now live in where image – not skill, intelligence or wisdom – is king.

It leaves people – both men and women alike – feeling extremely insecure about any part of their body that doesn’t match up to societies standards of conventional beauty.

This has lead to the rapid increase of breast implants, botox, fillers and other cosmetic procedures surgeries.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps) said there were 51,140 surgical procedures last year – up from 45,406 the year before.

Nine out of 10 procedures were in women, although the rise was seen in both genders.

The top 10 procedures were:

* Breast augmentation up 12% to 9,652

* Eyelid surgery up 12% to 8,689

* Face and neck lifts up 16% to 7,419

* Breast reductions up 13% to 6,246

* Liposuction up 20% to 5,551

* Nose jobs up 14% to 4,205

* Fat transfer operations up 3% to 3,261

* Tummy tucks up 8% to 2,933

* Browlifts up 7% to 2,110

* Ear corrections up 14% to 1,074

Overall, the number of procedures increased by 13%, and I would safely bet that it will have risen even further when the 2019 figures are completed.

All of these procedures are detrimental to people’s health just through the trauma the body endures through being cut open, as well as having to deal with the consequences of having general anaesthetic which completely wipes out your gut flora, which can take months or years to rebuild.

Add to this having a foreign body living underneath your skin, which your immune system is constantly attacking. (Read more about this here: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2018-11-silicone-breast-implant-patients-greatly.html)

Of course, the medical industry will say this is all nonsense, and anyone who suggests these procedures and surgeries isn’t safe is a quack. (Cue me rolling my eyes.)

One look at the website https://www.breastimplantillness.com, and, the stories from tens of thousands of women on that website will tell you all you need to know about who is telling the truth here.

Another great resource if you want to hear what breast implants can do to you from the horse’s mouth is this great interview with Nicole DeVaney who herself suffered from Breast Implant Illness.

Nicole talks about the physical and psychological problems women have with breast implants, as well as why boobs are an outward physical expression of a women’s love and heart, and whether women use great implants to mask deeper, unhealed emotional wounds.

You can also listen to a great conversation that Paul Chek has with Troy Casey where they go into the dangers of Breast Implants, Piercings, IUD’s, Mobile phone radiation & synthetic clothes.

Either way, it is not up to me or anybody else to say whether you should have a cosmetic procedure because at the end of the day the choice lies with you.

And, I know and have seen the positive impact these procedures can have on a person’s confidence and overall demeanour.

However, it is important to understand all the information, and have all the facts before you make your final choice.

That way you can at least know what challenges you may face, and you can be prepared for what might come your way.

Then the choice is yours.
