In general, the Swiss ball is underused & regularly abused.
This piece of equipment is a great tool for building a body that has a strong foundation, and that is strong through a 360-degree range.
When used correctly it helps build strong ligaments, tendons, stabilisers & muscles, as well as a strong abdominal wall, a strong functional core & CNS.
It is also fantastic at correcting faulty movement patterns & muscular imbalances.
Unfortunately, most people don’t know how to utilise the Swiss ball to it’s best ability so they don’t use it, and it sits collecting dust in the corner.
On the rare occasions you do see it being used, the majority of the people you see using it, are performing acts that are highly dangerous and belong in the circus.
(You can check YouTube out if you want evidence of this.)
My advice, if you have never been taught how to use a Swiss ball properly, and would like to reap the benefits of this marvellous tool, is to get someone on one sessions with a trainer at your gym who knows how to use it.
It will be money well spent.
Every construction worker that builds a house starts with the foundations, otherwise, the house would collapse.
It is similar when it comes to the human body.
Neglecting building the foundations when it comes to gym work can lead to imbalances, chronic pain, and often injury.
Using the Swiss ball correctly is a great way to build & develop your foundations so that those issues don’t arise.
I can say from personal experience how much it’s helped me address my imbalances.

P.S. No I am not sponsored by a Swiss ball company before you ask. ?
There are obviously other great methods for building a strong body, but after continuously seeing this piece of equipment left on the shelve I thought it should get the attention it deserves. Lol
