One of the things I love doing is adding a teaspoon of raw honey to my teas, or smoothies, so I always love it when I travel to a new place, as I get to try the honey of the land … and I wasn’t disappointed with the honey, from Tulum.

This particularly honey comes from the Mayan Temples, and it has a deep, rich, soulful taste, which is absolutely delicious.

In case you are new to raw untreated honey, here are some of its benefits …

You can add raw honey to your cold press juices to preserve them.

Not only does it taste fantastic, but it is full of health boosting properties.

In fact, raw honey is so beneficial that it should be considered a ‘super food’ and a even a medicine.

Now, for those of you out there worrying about it’s calories or sweetness raising blood sugar and having a negative effect on the body, I have news for you …

Raw honey does not have the same effect on the body as pure sugar.

Raw honey will not cause disturbances to blood sugar, and will not cause weight gain.

The majority of the sugars in raw, unheated honey (not heated above 36 degrees C/96.8 F), convert to enzymes in the body.

Raw honey’s benefits don’t stop there as it has antiseptic, antibiotic, antifungal, and antibacterial properties, and it never spoils!

It can also be used as a natural remedy and is wonderful for treating skin rashes, burns, blemishes and acne, and it can also be used to combat dry hair & scalp, for dental care including ulcers and bleeding gums, and it can used as a moisturiser.

Raw Honey also aids digestion and may be beneficial in treating the bacterium H. pylori.

Therefore, if you if raw honey isn’t in your health arsenal already, I’d say you are missing out.
