In general bread is not a healthy option for the majority of people.
The combination of wheat and gluten (and the multiple other ingredients) is hugely inflammatory and allergenic.
However, bread is a staple in most peoples daily diet so when they are told to get rid of it, it can be a tough nut to crack.
Peoples reliance on it comes as no surprise given the amount of advertising that is given to wheat based products from a very young age.
In fact the agriculture business has done well to make people automatically think of toast when ever breakfast is mentioned, and, a sandwich when lunch time comes around.
Plus, they are both cheap and convenient options.
