The older we get, the more we seem to ignore our intuition and imagination because we let society and life dull down our senses, as well as the belief of what we see as possible.
We stop daydreaming and instead concentrate solely on what is thought to be logical …
… after all, we’ve got stuff to do and only “losers” and “weirdos” can afford to sit there and do nothing all day mulling over thoughts and contemplating life.
The irony is, every time the world has been changed it has been by one of those “losers” who saw possibility where others saw only obstacles.
They dared to dream.
They listened to their intuition.
And … they disregarded what was seen as possible at the time.
It was Albert Einstein who said …
“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
(And, when you really think about that, it’s hard to argue with him.)
We should also be thanking God (or the universe – whatever you’re into) that those pioneers didn’t listen to the all the people who thought they were crazy, and instead followed through on their imagination …
… otherwise, we wouldn’t have the world we live in today with such things as cars, airplanes, and the internet.
Instead of listening to logic and reason, they listened to their gut feeling.
They knew deep down what they were doing was somehow right, and they followed their own intuition.
Einstein also said …
“The only real valuable thing is intuition … It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer. Creativity is intelligence having fun.”
And, that’s what they did.
Instead of giving up, they stayed with the problems they encountered until they finally came up with a solution, or at least the next step.
(Sometimes the next step is all we need to get our momentum back on track.)
So, next time you have a tough decision to make, or you are struggling with a challenge you must overcome …
I suggest you sit with yourself a while, and after you’ve used logic to go through all the pros and cons …
Take the time to sit there and tap into your intuition, and listen in to what direction your gut is guiding you in.
Because, when you think about it … how often has your own intrinsic gut feeling been wrong?
I’m guessing not very often … if at all.
Then even if what you chose turns out to be “wrong”, at least when you’ve gone with your own intuition, which is an easier pill to swallow.
And to be honest … that “wrong” decision probably put you on the path you were meant for anyway.
The universe is funny like that.
