“If you are healthy you will look good, but looking good doesn’t mean you are healthy.” …Ryan Martin

Quoting yourself can be seen as arrogant but that’s not the point here. The quote encapsulates everything you need to know about health. It also let’s you know the stark difference between the health and the fitness industry.

People are so used to the two going hand in hand that they think everything that the fitness industry produces is beneficial. Unfortunately that’s just not the truth. I learnt this the hard way.

Anyone can lose weight on a low calorie starvation diet, worse still using cheap products loaded with synthetic nutrients, GMO’s, soy protein and toxic artificial sweeteners. Losing weight, keeping lean muscle, optimising your health and being medication free for life is the key.

Yes a person can lose weight using cheap toxic products because they will be burning more calories than they are putting in. But are they healthy? Are they getting all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytonutrients that their body needs? Not even close. In fact these poisonous supplements actually strip the body of nutrients, and promote a highly toxic environment.

The photo on left was taken in New York 7 years ago just after I had taken another course of steroids for my keloid scarring and reoccurring cysts. Steroids combined with what I thought was a ‘healthy’ diet lead me to jumping to 95kg in weight. Compare that to today’s photo on the right where I am 76kg. That’s almost a quarter of a person lost! My skin is almost completely healed too, and at 29 I feel great, have more energy and look younger than I did at 22 when I was playing professional sport.

It wasn’t an easy fix. It took a combination of time and patience. There are no quick fixes like some people would have you believe. It wasn’t down to a fad diet either. No synthetic supplements, man made chemicals, drugs or medication. Just an all natural approach intertwined with tried and tested nutritional and lifestyle protocols.

Instead of taking lots of synthetic supplements from well known fitness brands I went in search of the best health promoting products money could buy. My essential health pack had gone from fat strippers and whey protein shakes to fermented greens drinks and probiotics. My essential health pack at the time included probiotics, Milk Thistle to cleanse my liver, coconut oil to cook my food in as well as use on my skin, and himalayan rock salt to nourish the body with essential minerals. All these world class additions to my diet meant a huge toxic burden was taken off my body so gains in lean muscle and fat loss were quick and effortless. And all my clients benefited hugely from this approach too.

I do things nowadays that are now an integral part of my lifestyle I wouldn’t of even considered before as they were against what I studied. The benefits are fast acting and will even save you money. I do them because they work. And in the end that’s what matters the most. Nothing beats constant practical application and success. People want results, not endless theory.
